Bigwall

I was really looking forward to visiting Bigwall. I have been just recently introduced to rope climbing. As I wanted to learn belaying, I went there with two experienced climbers who explained me some technique, including the gear set-up and how to handle in case my partner falls. When one the guys that I was left, with my climbing partner we asked one of the staff to help us and supervise me. We were told that everyone was usually super friendly and the staff at Bigwall was eager to help beginners. Well, this was not the case last weekend. The guy who came over talked me down, like I was an idiot. He has such a passive-aggressive attitude. Never felt so belittled and inferior. This whole experience completely diminished my motivation to learn rope climbing. Surely I am a beginner and I need help, and I am okay if people call me out and advise me how to improve. But I don’t think that that kind of attitude is okay. Also you are not allowed to use grigri and finally on their website they advertise a one day course on introduction to climbing/ belaying. Apparently that information on their website is outdated.

Great wall climbing gym with lots of routes 🧗 Unfortunately there's no auto belay device. So you will need someone to support you 😉The walls are huge and you can find a line for your skill level. We tried outdoor bouldering area since the weather was okay It is possible to rent gear for climbing 🔺Things that could be better: Student discount tickets and It's a pity that climbing harness was not so comfortable All in all this place is awesome for wall climbing, but not the bouldering. Planning to visit again

why is grigri not allowed? The gym is smaller than photos you see. but generally route set is okay, i felt that they were not well-thought 🤔(maybe i am not good enough to be able to judge though i climb grade 7) they got a small boulder to for warm-up. Probably for beginners its a great place caz there are a lot of rope set for top-rope climbing.

Nice place with tall walls (finally!), some of the routes are covered with chalk so better take your brush with. What was strange is that it’s forbidden to belay with Gri-gri! We were told off for using it… Guys, why can we use one the safest belay devices? My climbing partner is not that confident to use tubes or any others… That’s weird:) but despite this fact the gym is really nice)

Pretty decent climbing wall with nice receptionists who speak English :) What I didn't like (comparing with other walls in Europe): No autobelays, more dusty, but the worst was that as we arrived (Friday) there was a guy setting up a route Which made annoying noise ( he was wearing ear protection not like us ..) I understand that sometimes those routs has to me made....but not when there are paying customers inside....I could pay for being on reconstruction site :D fortunately didn't last the whole session. But except of that guy I really liked the wall :)
